Sugar Cookies

Hey Y'all!
Well the big snow storm hit over the Christmas holiday so we were stuck in the house for days! All the highways were closed so no one could come for Christmas. It was terrible! And oh so lonely. Landry and I were going crazy in this house cause Eddie was having to work in all that mess. So what did I do to cure the boredom?? Well, I baked cookies of course!

This is the recipe:

Sugar Cookies

1 C. butter
2 C. sugar
2 eggs
1 t. baking soda
1 C. sour cream
5 C. All-Purpose flour
2 t. baking powder
pinch of salt
1 T. vanilla

*Cream the butter and sugar together with a mixer.

*Add the eggs, beating in one at a time and then add vanilla.

*In a seperate mixing bowl dissolve baking soda in the sour cream and sit aside for now.

*In another mixing bowl mix 2 1/2 cups of flour with the baking powder and salt.

*Add the sour cream mixture to the creamed butter, alternating with the flour mixture.

*Once all the sour cream & flour mixture is incorporated, mix in the other 2 1/2 cups of flour (may take a little less).

*Ok, now chill the dough overnight in a tightly covered container (I wrapped dough in saran wrap)

*The following day: preheat oven to 425 degrees

*Roll out chilled dough onto floured board

*Cut with cookie cutters and sprinkle with sugar {i used cinnamon & sugar}

*Bake at 425 for approx. 5 minutes

*Cool on wire rack and then decorate with icing if desired

*Now eat as many as possible!

How about a close up????

Now go make some cookies people! I would love to use a fun shaped cookie cutter and then also ice them! These cookies would be amazing with some icing!!!!!

Enjoy!

Landry's 9 month birthday

Landry Kate is 9 months old today! I cant believe it! These last months have gone by so fast! She hated me today for putting this big ol' bow on her head! She cried and cried and cried and then I took it off and she was fine. Eddie keeps saying she is gonna be a tomboy, but I say noooo way!!! So most of the pictures I took today were tearful, but I just loved this one. This is what she thinks of hairbows! :)
Merry Christmas Everyone!

{Regina Coble Photography}

Have you seen the pictures Regina took of Landry when she was a week or so old??? They turned out so so cute!!! The photo session was an all day event!!! We stopped several times for diaper changes/feedings. I can't tell you how many times we took the diaper off for that perfect shot and Landry would pee! So then it took even longer to get things cleaned up and back in place :)

This picture had me on edge the whole time. I thought Lan was going to inhale and aspirate {is that even possible?} the feathers cause they were flying around everywhere. But what a cute picture......guess it was worth me getting so worked up about! Looking back now at the situation I was being way over the top...guess it's just my ocd?

This is Landry's laundry basket....what a mouthful!! Bet you can't say that 3 times fast!!!!! Isn't it cute! I think Im about to add her monogram to the front of it. Stay tuned for after pictures!

And since it is Fathers day weekend.... This is one of my faves!! Eddie's hands are so huge compared to Landry's tiny feet! I think this picture says it all. Eddie is the best daddy Landry could have ever hoped for. I am lucky to have a husband that is so helpful and caring! I love my family! Mer!

Thank you so much Regina for doing these pictures for us! Regina is on of my BFF's and is the best photographer on the block! She is just starting her business and she also does weddings and engagement pictures. Family and kidos too.  Her work is just lovely! Speaking of engagement pictures.....

Stay tuned for Ada pictures! New baby cows that are so so cute!!

Peace, Love, & Baby!
