Hey Y'all!
Well the big snow storm hit over the Christmas holiday so we were stuck in the house for days! All the highways were closed so no one could come for Christmas. It was terrible! And oh so lonely. Landry and I were going crazy in this house cause Eddie was having to work in all that mess. So what did I do to cure the boredom?? Well, I baked cookies of course!
This is the recipe:
Sugar Cookies
1 C. butter
2 C. sugar
2 eggs
1 t. baking soda
1 C. sour cream
5 C. All-Purpose flour
2 t. baking powder
pinch of salt
1 T. vanilla
*Cream the butter and sugar together with a mixer.
*Add the eggs, beating in one at a time and then add vanilla.
*In a seperate mixing bowl dissolve baking soda in the sour cream and sit aside for now.
*In another mixing bowl mix 2 1/2 cups of flour with the baking powder and salt.
*Add the sour cream mixture to the creamed butter, alternating with the flour mixture.
*Once all the sour cream & flour mixture is incorporated, mix in the other 2 1/2 cups of flour (may take a little less).
*Ok, now chill the dough overnight in a tightly covered container (I wrapped dough in saran wrap)
*The following day: preheat oven to 425 degrees
*Roll out chilled dough onto floured board
*Cut with cookie cutters and sprinkle with sugar {i used cinnamon & sugar}
*Bake at 425 for approx. 5 minutes
*Cool on wire rack and then decorate with icing if desired
*Now eat as many as possible!
How about a close up????
Now go make some cookies people! I would love to use a fun shaped cookie cutter and then also ice them! These cookies would be amazing with some icing!!!!!
Enjoy!
